■  If you are acting as your own General Contractor, keep an expandable folder for each    trade.  For example,  folders labeled “Plumbing”,  “Electricity”, "Tile", etc.

■  Tell your electrician exactly where you want the outlets and jacks.  Especially, if you have an idea where you want your furniture to go

■  Save some paint in the cans for touch-ups.

■  Call your local utility locator service to mark the underground utilities. 

■  Maximize resale value.  This means kitchens, bathrooms and fine crown molding, etc.
